A New Public Charter School Coming to Mission Lake's Campus

Nestled within the beautiful Mission Lake Wilderness Camp, the new Charter Lab School will open its doors for grades K-6 in August 2025. Surrounded by nature, CLS students will receive an extraordinary educational experience that blends the wonders of the great outdoors with a world-class curriculum designed to instill strong moral character and academic excellence.

TUITION-FREE

Charter schools are public schools in South Carolina, meaning there are no barriers to entry – any student in the grade levels served by CLS is eligible to attend.

GRADE RANGE

CLS will serve grades K-6 in its first year and add a grade level until it serves grades K-8. There are plans to later add a high school based on the needs of the community.

FACILITY

Thanks to an innovative partnership with Mission Lake Wilderness Camp, the Charter Lab School’s facility will be one of the largest and most beautiful charter school campuses in the country.

COMMUNITY

The curriculum of CLS is designed to blend the school environment with the community, creating upstanding citizens who are prepared for life after K-12 education – whatever that may bring.
